I've managed to get another unit of Greeks painted this week. This time I stayed with a similar color scheme for the whole unit. So that means 20 done and another 20 to go from this box. I'm really enjoying painting these guys, and the shield transfers are awesome now I've got the hang of them. (not sure if ill still be saying that when I get to my 100th man...lol)

Nice work Robert!
ReplyDeleteExcellent work there. I really like the contrasting colours, while the choice of colours is still pleasing to the eye. The decals round the unit off and make each hoplite stand out as an individual with a story. Will you use those as an Elite unit (based on the use of purple?)
ReplyDeletethanks for the comments: not 100%sure how I'll use the units at this stage, and since my knowledge of the colors from a historical point of view is a big fat zero, (yeah I know I should spend some time and do some research) , but my idea was to create a few units with some distinctive colors to use as elite type units or variant units. time will tell as its early days ...another 150 odd to go.
